PATIENT SERVICES

EMERGENCY - The Emergency Department at Dodge County Hospital is open around the clock to treat serious injuries and medical emergencies. A new screening process is in place to decrease overcrowding in the ER as well as the length of time a patient has to wait to be seen. The process will also assist in decreasing the costs incurred in dealing with non-emergency visits. Under the new screening process, a patient will be evaluated by the physician on duty. OB/GYN - Our prenatal area is a special environment where physicians and staff, sensitive to the uniquely feminine needs of obstetrics, gynecology and other related healthcare disciplines, work with empathy and sensitivity. This service includes labor and delivery, nursery and postpartum.

MEDICAL SURGERY - The Med/Surg Department is located on the first floor of the hospital just inside the east entrance, and provides around-the-clock patient care. The patient population consists of infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Patient problems commonly managed include cardiovascular diseases, diagnostic work-ups and infectious processes, gastrointestinal disorders, genito-urinary disorders, neurological disorders, oncology disorders, orthopedic disorders, respiratory illnesses, telemetry monitoring, diabetes and cancer. SURGICAL SERVICES - Ambulatory or outpatient surgery has increased in popularity since its general introduction in the 1970s. Today, over 65% of all surgical procedures performed in the United States, including those at Dodge County Hospital, are performed on an outpatient basis. RESPIRATORY - The Respiratory Care department of Dodge County Hospital works closely with the physicians to provide treatment and pulmonary diagnostics for infants through geriatric patients. Diagnostics and therapy are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week by Certified and Registered Respiratory Therapists under the guidance of the Respiratory Medical Director. 

We provide life support to those with acute lung injury as well as maintenance therapy for those with chronic pulmonary disease. Outpatient and inpatient services related to emergency/trauma, sleep apnea patients, asthma sufferers, newborns with under-developed lungs, people with chronic lung disease, people requiring ventilator support are provided by therapists using state-of-the art equipment and techniques. 

The goal of providing the highest quality healthcare for these patients continues to drive the therapists in the Respiratory Department and Dodge County Hospital.
