Facilities Mechanic (PRN)
HOURS: PRN, 8am-4:30pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems as required.
• Assists in maintaining and repairing H.V.A.C. controls and associated equipment.
• Assists in replacing, installing, repairing, and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances, and lighting systems.
• Adheres to OSHA guidelines for employee safety.
• Constructs, repairs, and maintains furniture, cabinets, doors, windows, building framework and related carpentry duties using hand and power tools.
• Assists with minor plumbing.
• Prepares surface and applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, or enamels to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures.
• Scrapes, sands, primes, and seals surfaces prior to painting. Cleans walls to ensure proper adherence.
• Fills cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Erect scaffolding, moving, and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; move furniture and equipment as necessary.
• Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns.
• Understands and maintains routing records of all inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs performed on facility equipment and systems (i.e., inventory, fire/disaster drills, warranty information).
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or GED state certification or similar demonstrated ability preferred but not required. Possess good oral and written communication skills.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in painting, wallpaper, dry wall repairs, and carpentry preferred.
• 1-year in general equipment or building maintenance preferred.
