Groundskeeper
HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides daily maintenance of hospital grounds and other hospital owned buildings. Knowledge of types of shrubs, grass, and trees used in local area and method of care for each. Knowledge of fertilizer and pesticides and their use. Knowledge of lawn equipment and its use. Maintain lawn, drives, sidewalks, and curbs. Repairs broken curbs, potholes, etc. Cuts grass, edges, trims and prunes shrubs and trees, rakes leaves, spreads fertilizer, mulch, and sprays insecticides. Plants flowers, grass, trees, or shrubs. Picks up trash from lawn. Removes snow, ice, mud, or sand from sidewalks and entrance ways. Keeps outside drains, gutters, down spouts, etc., clean and unstopped. Maintains outside lighting and flag pole. Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:
Frequent lifting of light to heavy weight items. Extensive walking, standing, climbing, and bending. Frequent lifting of 50-75lbs. Must be capable of working with hands, tools, and lawn equipment.
